Grab current day from DB only?

   My calendar DB is becoming quite voluminous, and the current method I am using has become very slow, which involves grabbing the calendar DB, then handling prepopulate events on the entire db.

Is there any way to tell the server to only send over the current day, to drastically reduce the time needed to process the information?

	c'mon, folks... any answer would be great. My system is suffering due to the massive amount of data being fed out to 30+ clients.
