   We wish to iterate through a couple of panes whcih are tabbed and determine which one is visible and which ones are hidden due to the tabbing. I'm sure there's an easy way of doing this but I can't seem to figure it out. IsHidden() does not seem to work for me in this context.

   You need get container of Pane:
 
   
  CXTPDockingPaneTabbedContainer* pContainer = (CXTPDockingPaneTabbedContainer*)pPane->GetContainer() 
and use methods of CXTPDockingPaneTabbedContainer to itereate panes.
