The problem:
I would like to have date/time picker in the command bar.
Now CXTPControlDateTimePicker does NOT exist in XTP.
I am aware of all workarounds to this missing piece of functionality but
those workarounds do not work well.
There is a CXTPDatePickerControl BUT... it is derived from CWnd, not from CXTPControl therefore it does not work with command bar customization well (for example it can not be resized during customization mode and pops up calendar while in customization).
The same problem applies to regular CDateTimeCtrl placed on command bar using CXTPControlCustom or CXTMonthCal. They are all derived from CWnd and do not work well with command bar customization.
And they do not match visual theme selected.
What I need is CXTPControlDateTimePicker that is derived from CXTPControl (not from CWnd).
Codejock - is there any way to have date time picker as CXTPControl and
have it working correctly with customization/skinning/themes?
The closest workaround would be using CXTPControlComboBox and modifying it to display month calendar on dropdown event. Do you by chance have any sample code for such thing? I searched the forum but did not find.
Regards,
Tomasz

Yes, there is no Picker derived from CXTPControl. Samples\CommandBars\CommonControls sample shows how to use CXTPControlCustom + CDateTimeCtrl

With all respect due, did you read my post at all? I specifically wrote that using CXTPControlCustom is NOT an option because of problems described in the original e-mail.
