We discovered a disturbing - although cosmetic – glitch in XTreme skin framework.

To reproduce the problem:
  • open some MDI app with skin applied (demo SkinFramework.SkinControls.exe, for example. Under "Skins and Themes" tab select "Local Skins" and then one of the four skins in the list).
  • then grab a window of any other application and move (drag) it over the "skinned" app in circular (or back and forth) movements. Most apparent while moving it over menu bar and toolbars.
Watch how long it takes to get "wiped" content redrawn - even if dragging is slower.

Interestingly enough, this problem doesn't appear when the dragged (moving) window belongs to the MDI app.

By our standards, described glitch prevents us to employ skin framework in professional applications.

Any ideas?

Ray
