Report: Sorting Large Numbers of Records

   A report control contains 3 columns. These 3 columns are populated with 15,000 records.
Column 1: Primary key - 15000 unique values
Column 2: Descriptive Field - Duplicates OK, but mostly unique
Column 3: Category Text - one of 8 possible categories
Sorting column 1 is instantaneous, Column 2 slightly longer, but column 3 takes several seconds.
Unfortunately the control does not give any indication to the user that something is happening, often resulting in endless frustrated clicking.
Can this 'delay' in performance be trapped by a BeginSort event, or at the very least, change the mousepointer to let the user know there action has triggered an event of some sort?
