I start with an empty events.mdb database. Calendar works OK.
Add one event, with reminder. Calendar works OK. Add a daily recurrence to this event, and use Calendar.DataProvider.ChangeEvent myEvent (which does not give any error message) and now the Calendar crashes VB6 as soon as it does Calendar.Populate Using ACCESS to examine the events.mdb file, there is now nothing in the database (ie the one event that was there and I was trying to modify, has now gone). Although there appears to be nothing in the database, the Calendar crashes everytime I use it now. Sometimes I also get a DIVIDE BY ZERO error when VB locks up. Obviously I will continue to experiment and try and find what I am doing wrong to cause such extreme problem. But I would appreciate any advice or suggestions. ANSWER: When modifying the event recurrence options I had failed to set all of the parameters. This caused CalendarControl to corrupt the mdb file and then when it tried to read the file it crashed VB6. Now that I am careful to set all the options correctly, it all works OK. I still think CJ could improve error trapping...... :-) |
