Hi,

I have VS2005 and VB6 both installed. Your demos for the Ribbon work well enough except I have noticed that in VS2005 the Frame around the application is not present. This occurs in all your ribbon demos regardless of language. I notice that if you run the run a .Net version when the VB6 demo is running inside the VB6 IDE, the .Net version works!! I have been trying to convert all my code from VB6 to VB.net but I don't want to have my application looking 'old'. Can you fix this quickly?

Seasons Greetings Oleg.

Arrrgh Vista!!

Your reply prompted me to set my theme to Classic and then try the VS2005 code. Guess what it works! When I run VB6 in Vista the OS detects the incompatibilty and switches to Classic mode temporarily. This is why I could see the frame in VS2005. Doh!

Ok....that being said how do I frame my app in Vista? Bearing in mind of course that many of my clients are buying machines with Vista on them I need the UI to have a constant look and feel especially as I have screen shots in help files. Please please please tell me you know a hack or code to set this right.

Boris

Hi,

Boris its designed to show standard Vista frame for  Ribbon in Vista Aero mode.  Office2007 do same and it looks much better.

Hi Oleg,

Happy New Year. Thanx for the info.. I think the frame looks better under XP. Vista just spoils it.. Just my opinion tho.

Cheers
