determine when pane loses focus?

How can I tell when a pane loses focus? I'm trying to store the current
child that has focus so it can be restored on SetFocus, which normally
I would use OnActivateView but it does not seem to be called with
docking panes.

In fact, with spy++ it seems to be as if absolutely no message is sent when the pane loses focus.
