Calendar: Bind vs. Manual ??

   I cant seem to find events to ALTER the calendar data before it gets written to the database; I need some of the calendar "custom fields" to be written to a specific field name in the database for searching and joining with other tables in the database, I need to do this just before the record is written to to MDB database. 
Is there a way to read/write data from the access database & update the calendar manually?
