Skin Framework : Font size change between different version of Skin

We were using v17.2.0 of the Skinframework control (for various reasons).

We use it in projects with Commandbars, Docking Panes....etc

We recently just upgraded the SkinFramework control to v20.3.0 in this project to fix a couple of behavioral issues with certain controls.

While this version fixed our immediate problem, we have now noticed that it appears to have affected the FONT size being used in Commandbars and Docking Panes? It appears to be around 1pt less in size, even though we are still applying the exact same Style.

See this image for reference.

The image on the left is v17.2.0 and the image on the right is v20.3.0.

It is obvious that the FONT is smaller and this even seems to impact the vertical size of the Ribbon as well?

Any explanation for this?

Is there a setting in the Skinframework that we could change to stop this from occurring?

(We are not using the very latest v24.3.0 due to behavioral issues with certain controls, again....)

NOTE: I can temporarily set the PanelPaintManager.font.Size however this will not fixe the size of the Ribbon.

Skinned Forms getting an grey border when the forms gets the focus again.

You can test it with the original Codejock SkinFramework Basic Sample.

- Start the form

- Switch to Windows10 style.

- Click to a window of another app --> the sample form gets grey

- Click again to the sample form --> the form has now a grey border.

Hi, I'm trying to apply a skin to the "SSTAB" control (Microsoft Tabbed Dialog Control) and to the "TabControl" control (Xtreme Suite Controls ActiveX) but I can't get it to work.Is it only possible to apply the Skin to the "TabStrip" of Microsoft Windows Common Controls?

Hi,

I have a VB6 app that I am skinning.

The VB6 app references a .Net COM DLL via COM Interop, and the .Net DLL displays a form.

The .Net form does not have skinning applied to it - it does not inherit the skinning from the VB6 instance running.

However, if I apply a skin to the .Net DLL, when my VB6 app destroys the instance of the COM object (the reference to the .Net COM DLL), the VB6 app loses the skin - as though skinning has just been turned off.

Can you please help?

I'm using the latest version of the SkinFramework (19.3.0)

Hi,

One of the advertised features of the SkinFramework is the ability to have multiple skins applied simultaneously - the screenshot shows a form with 1 skin applied and another form with multiple buttons, each with a different skin style applied to them.

This is taken from the Skin Controls demo app, but the source code for the app doesn't show this functionality (VB6).

Is it possible to get some VB6 source code to show how to achieve this?

Hi, we are trying to apply reskinning on our existing VB6 modules

Currently using the Codejock.SkinFramework.v19.3.0.ocx

However we noticed that for VB Command Button, it doesn't reskin if it has graphics

Found a post that mentioned, skinframework is not able to catch and render this

I have tried the PushButton and BackStageButton (from another ocx), however I can only see it having some "themes" that can be set.

Skin doesn't seem to be applied even PushButton.

Anything else that needs to be set here ?

On the below example, it is only the VB6 Command Button with only text that the skin is being applied

I recently upgraded a legacy vb6 project from SkinFramework ActiveX Control 16.3.1 to 19.3.0 and Popup menu alignments started failing. I am using the Windows TrackPopupMenu API to build a pop up menu and display it in the appropriate location in the application.

See the following simplified example.

Flags = TPM_RIGHTBUTTON + TPM_NONOTIFY + TPM_RETURNCMD

iMenu = TrackPopupMenu(hMenu, Flags + TPM_LEFTALIGN, p.x, p.y, 0, GetForegroundWindow(), 0)

iMenu = TrackPopupMenu(hMenu, Flags + TPM_CENTERALIGN, p.x, p.y, 0, GetForegroundWindow(), 0)

iMenu = TrackPopupMenu(hMenu, Flags + TPM_RIGHTALIGN, p.x, p.y, 0, GetForegroundWindow(), 0)

In this example, LEFTALIGN ignores the value in p.x and treats it as zero, basically putting it at the left-most position on the display. The Center and Right align work properly.

I reproduced this in the SkinControls sample application. Rolling back to 16.3.1 fixes the issue. I reproduced the issue in version 17.3, 18.4, and 19.3. I need to upgrade because of an apparrent bug in 16.3 that affects scroll bars on server 2016 that the newer versions fix.

Here's what happens with TPM_LEFTALIGN (Incorrect behavior)

And here's what happens with TPM_CENTERALIGN (This is the correct behavior)

Note that changing the application from LEFT to CENTER is not a desirable workaround because it changes where the popup appears relative to the mouse cursor (left, center or right aligned based on the mouse cursor's location).

Can I get a fix expedited for this?

After complete adjusting the skin with all kinds of color, my TabControl is not working as i wish.

Developed in "Visual Objects":

The tabcontrol content is still blue. Probably because i see Visual Objects is displaying a normal window embedded in the tabcontrol. I don't know if that is the right way or not. But i saw it in the sources of the library's of Visual Objects.

So when i hardcoded program the window to be the right color (this seems to work), it looks like the checkboxes are painted and not transparent in anyway.

Can this be made working in anyway ?

I'm using Codejock skins dll on inno setup.

it works well on cjstyles but it won't work for all of .msstyles files.

It can not load some of them.

Where is the problem? how can I detect if the .msstyles can be loaded using codeJoke or not?
