Yes, I know I can set the updatePeriod to zero. But I would like to have the menu update as well. 
 
I would like to know WHY the event fires continiously while nothing happens at all? Can you give me an explanation, please?

There is UpdatePeriod option that you can use to disable Update event.

Hi,
 
Is there someone out there who is happy with this event? If only main menu items are added to a menubar you will get the update event for these items every ..... sec. I don't get this. If a mainmenu item is clicked, YES there should be an event triggered but when there's no action with the main menu why are there events triggered?
