Think you didn't installed East languages support in Vista.

In my quest to achieve the right align style of MS checkbox with CJ checkbox, i noticed a difference on how the checkbox displays in Vista and XP when the following is set:

set checkbox.rightToLeft = True
set checkbox.Textalignment = AlignMiddleLeft

In XP, for me to correctly show a text like "Activate Item?" i type: "Activate Item?". however in Vista i have to type: "?Activate Item" for it to show correctly with Qmark at end.
