Author: ssarabando
Subject: 8738
Posted: 09 November 2007 at 3:15pm

Hi all,

I've stumbled across the following 'odd' (IMO) behaviour.

I've put a Resizer, a ReportControl (inside the Resizer) and a CommandBar inside a VB6 form.

The resizer has AutoSize = True so that it will automatically fill its container (the form).

The command bar has an action and a context menu with the referred action.

The report control is supposed to handle the MouseDown event in order to show the context menu (ShowPopUp) when the right mouse button is pressed.

The problem is that is doesn't. The event handler doesn't even fire.

I've managed to track the problem to the Resizer.AutoSize = True.

If I use the AutoSize, the MouseDown event handler never fires; if I don't use the AutoSize property, then the MouseDown event handler fires as it is supposed to.

To bypass this, I've had to programmatically resize the Resizer inside Form_Load. But this isn't the way I would 'like' it to be.

Any thoughts? Is it my blunder, an undocumented problem/feature or a bug?

Regards,

SS
