found the solution
 
edited the file
 
C:\Program Files\Microsoft Visual Studio\MSDN98\98VSa\1033\MSDNVS6A.COL
 
and removed the reference to the last folder containing the CodeJock stuff.

when I installed CodeJock I selected "MSDN help integration".
 
However now whenever I hit F1 from with MSDev 6, all I get is the CodeJock help.  I can't even run the MSDev help from the start menu, I still just get the CodeJock one.
 
I'm reluctant to uninstall CodeJock just to fix this, even if I could be sure it would.
 
Anyone got any method to get my normal help working?  It's driving me nuts having to go to msdn.microsoft.com for even basic MFC documentation.
