Use Actions its best way to Enable/Disable Hide/Show buttons. See Actions sample from CommandBars folder.
 
Or Show/Hide control in Update handler: Control.Visible = False

hi,
anotherquestion about disabling and enabeling a button. I have a button with id: ID_FILE_OPEN, and I am using this id for the a button "Open" in the toolbar and with <File> menu. I am able to make the button invisible in the toolbar, but I can not get invisible in the <File> menu.
Please help???

Hi,
 
After you add Edit popup, assign some ID for it:
ControlEdit.ID = ID_MENU_EDIT.
 
now you can enable/disable it using same Update handler.

Hi,
I have a menu bar with: File, Edit, View and Help button, and I need to know how can I be able to disabel the Edit menu everytime the user make a selection"A" and then enabel it when he select another selection other than "A". I don't have no problem in doing with the buttons in the toolbar, but it seems that it's not working with the menu bar. So, please help!!!
