In order to use/develop the ribbon, it must be licensed by Microsoft.  And according to Microsoft, the ribbon has to take up the entire width of the screen. 
 
So right now it is definitely not possible to do what you ask, and I doubt if Codejock will enable such a feature since it goes against the MS guidelines.

Hi,  

I would like to make use of the ribbons and was wondering if it was possible to do something similar to this, maybe using a DialogBar of the left hand side:
