I am trying to create the same effect as above (Caption and Drop Down Triangle only) using the command bar.  I can do it by creating a custom control for the "Announcements" bit and pointing the handle to a label(in a picture box to get a .hwnd) and that works fine.  I would like to have just used the label function for the word and changed the font to Tahoma size 9 - you can do this globally but it effects the drop down menu as well.  So i was hoping to be able to get hold of such properties as font, size, bold, etc for the label.
 
Secondly, the drop down triangle on the right I can mimic by placing an icon (which is a picture of a triangle) in the 2nd control having stetched the 1st control.
 
    Set cbp = .ActiveMenuBar.Controls.Add(xtpControlButtonPopup, ID_DROPDOWN, "")
        cbp.IconId = 1
 
But, how can I use the control's own drop down triangle (don't know it's technical term).
