I need to have a custom MRU file list in one of the menus. The standard MFC way does not work since (in OnUpdateMyMenuItem) pCmdUI->m_pMenu is always NULL.
 
XTP implements MRU using CXTPControlRecentFileList that is created if the menu item ID is ID_FILE_MRU_FILE1. How can I use my own menu item ID and a custom MRU file list (stored in a custom registry folder -- not in "Recent File List") to implement similar functionality?
