My bad, thanks for the response.  I was using ::GetListCtrl and casting it to CXTListCtrl and crashing on the methods when realizing it wasn't an XT control.

I see now that CXTLIstView is a child of the CXTListBase class which has the bulk of the added functionality.

Is there a reason why the CXTListView class uses the standard CListCtrl instead of the CXTListCtrl?
 
Anyone have a recommended work-around?
 
The methods of the CXTListCtrl I'm interested in are:
 
AutoSizeColumn()  ... would rather not want to write my own version of this code
SetSortImage()  ... would rather not write this code
GetColumnCount()  ... can get around this pretty quickly because I know how many columns I have to add
