Is this on its way ... I really need the ini file saving/loading??

Thanks for theresponse!  I was looking at the source code a bit more andnoticed that the first ASSERT if coming (originally) from theXTPFrameWnd's function LoadCommandBars where the source code says thefollowing:

Thesame goes to the source documentation for theCXTPCommandBars::LoadOptions() function.  Am I to assume thatthe comments left in the source are no longer accurate and were leftin error?

It's a shame that the toolkit cannot use theregistry or the profile INI file interchangeably but being able touse an XML file should solve my problems.  Thanks for theinformation.

I've searched theforums but have been unable to find an answer to this situation. Hopefully it's something simple and I've just missed a step.

I'mworking on a new application and in order to make it more compatiblewith Windows Vista and the expectations of Vista I'm attempting tostore my applications profile values in an INI file in the"Application Data" folder rather then in theregistry.

According to the MSDN documentation you canaccomplish this by settings the CWinApp member m_pszProfileName andnot calling SetRegistryKey() at all.

When I do this myapplication and the Xtreme ToolkitPro stores the profile values inthe INI file properly, however when I run the debug version I getasserts when the program starts and when it closes.

Theasserts are coming from the following lines:

HKEY hKey = AfxGetApp()->GetAppRegistryKey();

in

void CXTPCommandBars::LoadOptions(LPCTSTRlpszProfileName)

When I start and exit theapplication and:

HKEY hRoot =AfxGetApp()->GetSectionKey(_xtRootSection); ASSERT(hRoot);

in

voidCXTPDockingPaneLayout::Save(LPCTSTR strSection)

whenI exit the application and then finally an exception from thisline:

AfxDelRegTreeHelper(m_hParentKey,m_strSectionName);

in

voidCXTPPropExchangeRegistry::EmptySection()

whenexiting the program.

So my question is, what am I missing? How can I configure the Xtreme Toolkit Pro (10.2) to use the INI filespecified and ignore the registry?  If I ignore all of theasserts and continue everything seems to work fine but this does notseem to be the correct way to do things.
