I just wanted to warn anyone upgrading to 24.3 which may require them first uninstalling 24.2.

Took 2 days to rebuild my VS 2022 with all the features, toolsets and layout settings. 

So the takeaway for you is, even with only a few affected customers, as the issue is major and time consuming to fix, it should of been communicated with a warning. 

That said, all is good and our products are working with CJ 24.3 with zero changes required.

I'm sorry to hear that you have faced with this situation. It has nothing to do with v24.3, it is specific to v24.2 only. Indeed there was a bug in ToolkitPro application wizard uninstallation logic that could lead to Visual Studio 2022 removal. It has been reported in past by some users, but apparently the number of affected users wasn't large due its random nature. This also was the reason of delaying with the fix, it was just very difficult to catch it. The good thing is the fact that it has finally been fixed and no one else will be affected in future.

If it's removed then obviously it cannot be recovered. Just install the new Visual Studio 2022 instance with the same components selected to the same location and all should be working fine.

I just uninstalled 24.2, then installed 24.3 and run the Deployment Wizard. It didn't find any Visual Studio installs. Tried to launch Visual Studio 2022, missing files. Visual Studio setup didn't help either. 

Then I noticed in the 24.3 release notes:

No explanation of how to recover from it. Couldn't find any forum posts on it. 

Codejock, I would of expected you to have created a warning on the forum or with the download as this is going to take hours to get Visual Studio 2022 working correctly.
