Author: ScottW
Subject: 23857
Posted: 26 May 2019 at 11:36am

When you have CommandBars.TabWorkspace.PaintManager.SelectTabOnDragOver set to non-zero, you can use drag and drop to drag an object from one MDI child window to another. We use that and users love it. However, when you drag to a different child window this way, then after you do you drop or just let go of the mouse to cancel the drag, the active MDI Child tab always automatically returns to the one that was active when you started the drag operation. Is there any way to disable this, at least when you actually complete the drag drop so the active MDI child tab remains on the one where you did the drop?

We used to use a different toolbar control from another vendor and it would leave the child where you performed the drop active and we have a few users complaining about this as they think we somehow "broke" this and should put it back the way it was. I'm not seeing any way to make it do this. Is there something I'm missing or can you maybe add another value to SelectTabOnDragOver that would do this?

Thanks
