CJ, please give an update what's going on behind the scenes!

When can we definitely expect a release candidate or final v17?
Our product schedule depends on it and I wouldn't ask if it isn't extremely urgent!!

I'll take a stab at a few of these.

> Will there be Office 2016 Ribbons?

I was really hoping for Office 2016 ribbon support as well, as I like the style a lot. But at this point (as of v17 beta 3) we still don't even have consistent Office 2013 support, and I've seen no indication that Office 2016 support is a goal of v17. 

In fact, I wouldn't want CodeJock to delay the v17 release any further (already dramatically behind schedule) for this purpose. Better to have it come later, I think.

> Can you use your own images in Ribbon background?

As far as I can determine, this isn't supported.

> Will the frame themes work without "stealing" the mouse cursor at the border? 

I believe this has been resolved, which is great because it was a total show-stopper.

> Is High-DPI finally supported for all controls?

High DPI support in v17 is definitely improved, but still with a number of limitations. There are a number of recent forum posts on the subject that contain details, etc. But I think things are moving in the right direction, at least.

> Is the styles/themes applied to all controls?

It's a mixed bag, pretty much as it has always been, but I'm generally able to get the results I want with a bit of tweaking here and there.

Just started evaluating if I can change to v17 from v16.


First some simple yes/no answers:

Will there be Office 2016 Ribbons?
Will there be Full-screen Backstages?
Can you use your own images in Ribbon background?
Will markup controls work with keyboard tab order?
Will the frame themes work without "stealing" the mouse cursor at the border? 
Is High-DPI finally supported for all controls?
Can we supply different icon sizes for the Ribbon?


Something more fundamental:

Is the styles/themes applied to all controls?
I can see in the preview samples that the Ribbon and Calendar controls works nicely together, same color scheme etc. What if I use a Report control, Property Editor control, MDI Client Tab control, and Docking Command Bar control, will they have the same look, following the Ribbon theme? Or do I need to use Office 2010 for one, Office 2013 for another, and VisualStudio 2013 for a third etc. Creating a patchwork of different styles, themes and custom colors to make the application look consistent?
What I'm, asking for is a way to just say, I want VisualStudio 2013 Dark look in a single call, and then all controls would look like this.
