I don't find an example of a date picker on a ribbon on any of the samples.

There is a custom date picker for a command bar (toolbar)...but not for a ribbon. So I have a date picker class derived from CComboBox, but cannot figure how to create it, or add it, to a ribbon group.
 
I define the control to be of type xtpControlCustom when adding it to the ribbon. But unsure how to associate the class with the ribbon...
 
OnCreateControl(...) is not part of the creation of the ribbon (in terms of custom control)...
