    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://forum.codejock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=1012">Davinder</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 1868<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 28 February 2005 at 12:48am<br /><br />Hi experts<BR>This is my first experience with Sockets <A class=iAs style="COLOR: darkgreen; BORDER-BOTTOM: darkgreen 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; TEXT-DECORATI&#079;N: underline" href="http://experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/MFC/Q_21329073.html#" target="_blank">Programming</A>.<BR>I am purely using MFC on both sides -- <A class=iAs style="COLOR: darkgreen; BORDER-BOTTOM: darkgreen 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; TEXT-DECORATI&#079;N: underline" href="http://experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/MFC/Q_21329073.html#" target="_blank">Server</A>(Dialog based application with 3 buttons &lt;Start server, Send data &amp; shutdown server&gt;).<BR>The client application is an Windows explorer type MFC SDI application.<BR><BR>After the connection is established &amp; when the &lt;Send data&gt; button is clicked on the server side, names of all the folders in C:\ is send one by one to the client for display in the tree view.<BR><BR>Now i have 2 questions to ask:<BR><BR>Q1--&gt; How can i make sure that the Port No. that i will provide in the Create() will be to create socket on each &amp; every system? <BR><BR><BR>Q2--&gt; Now suppose the data ie folder names are being send from server to client &amp; in the mean time i purposely pulls out the <A class=iAs style="COLOR: darkgreen; BORDER-BOTTOM: darkgreen 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; TEXT-DECORATI&#079;N: underline" href="http://experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/MFC/Q_21329073.html#" target="_blank">network</A> <A class=iAs style="COLOR: darkgreen; BORDER-BOTTOM: darkgreen 1px solid; BACKGROUND-COLOR: transparent; TEXT-DECORATI&#079;N: underline" href="http://experts-exchange.com/Programming/Programming_Languages/MFC/Q_21329073.html#" target="_blank">cable</A>.
