You can convert a 24bit bmp plus an 8bit greyscale bmp to a 32bit bmp from the command line:

alphahlp -fbmp -j color24bit.bmp grey8bit.bmp alpha32.bmp

It can do other things too like convert between formats, split and joinimage strips into single images 1 per file, and split and join singleimages into .ico files too.

I need some help with converting an existing 24bit icon strip to a new one with alpha support. (I don't have Adobe PhotoShop installed or any other fancy tool).
