That said, unless you really want to use a list control, have you considered simply rendering what you want in HTML and using a CHTMLView/CHTMLCtrl ?

How can I achieve the following functionality (as shown in the below) using CListCtrl/CXTPListCtrl in a Dialog based app?

1) In Icon View I would like to display the formatted text (some lines are in bold in different colors) in multiple lines. I am partially successfull in achieving this by handling NM_CUSTOMDRAW message. I am yet to figure out how to display the formatted text. Please find a sample project 2005-01-11_173137_ListEx.zip that tries to achieve this.

2) I want to display a background image in the list control.

Any ideas or sample code is greatly appreciated.
