How do I remove (or at least not show) these drop down arrows?

When I had just one toolbar it wasnt so much of a problem, I used the code below to remove the functionality.

Now that I have multiple toolbars it is confusing I think (it looks like the drop arrow is part of the input field) so would like to remove it completely.

I am unable to find how to do this so have resorted to a post here.
