I'm a new customer and I just ran into this problem (prior to finding this slightly old thread) since my first project with XTP embeds both MS Word and MS Excel documents in one of my document's views.

Since I did not see a reply from CJ in this thread (searched before asking) I'll just ask; Does XTP support MDI Apps with OLE Containers? If so, what is the proper way to set up the menus and toolbars to merge correctly with the embedded Active Document?

My Environment: XP Pro SP2, VS 7.1.3088, Xtreme Toolkit Pro v9.601

If I placed a statement like this on each stopper I found - gosh, there would be nothing else to read in this forum  They reckon to clean off some bugs in January release, which i'm always reading as "introducing new...", so fingers crossed i'm wrong here, as i've waited up my queue to shop here again and again , about to start looking elsewhere...

I believe I've found an issue when using Xtreme Toolkit Pro v9.51 with an MDI app and in-place activated OLE items. Normally when in-place items are activated the application's maintoolbar will be hidden and its menus replaced with the OLE server'smenus.  This doesn't happen.

Here's a simple way to reproduce the issue:

1. Create a new MFC AppWizard(exe) project (e.g. TEST)
2. Select Multiple Documents and Doc/View architecture support.
3. No database support
4. Select Container, Active Document Container, Automation & ActiveX Controls
5. Use the defaults on steps 4 & 5 of the wizard
6. Select CRichEditView on Step 6
7. Compile the Debug version and run it
8. Select Edit > Insert New Object...
9. Insert something like "Microsoft Office Excel Worksheet" or "Bitmap Image"
10. Double-click on the item to activate it - the TEST application's menus and toolbar will be hidden.
11. Now follow the steps in the Toolkit Pro Manual's "Tutorial's for Xtreme Toolkit Pro" > "Create an application that has Office style toolbar's and menus"
12. Run the program again and repeat steps 8-10.  This time themenu will not be replaced and TEST's toolbar will not be hidden.

Another example is the CodeJock drawcli Demo.  Run this demo and repeat steps 8-10 from above and you'll see the same behavior.

My Environment: Windows 2000, VS6 with SP5, & Xtreme Toolkit Pro v9.51

CodeJock - this is a show stopper for us.  Can you please offer afix or workaround for this?  Thank you very much.  Other thanthis we love your product.
