I know, I didn't do enough tests, sorry! Even Visual C++ doesn't show tooltips when search results is active. Outlook Express, Word, IE all work fine.

nice bug, but not Codejock's. I create simple MDI MFC application with standard toolbar and reproduced it....

 

Something in MFC or in comctl32.dll...

Hi,

On some machines, the tooltips for the buttons stop working when the Windows Search command window has been used. My app is the foreground app, the search results window is behind mine. If the search window is closed the tooltips start working again!

I have seen this on XP SP2, it may happen on other versions also.

Has anyone seen this before, or have any idea why it happens?
