In Word 2007 if you enter an invalid value for font size or font face and then it loses focus it displays a message box.

We have some combo fields we want to validate when losing focus, which is simple enough, but when we prompt a message box (or balloon tip after customising it to use CEdit) then the Home button (main File button in the top left) gets stuck and no longer works, the same can happen to other items on the ribbon that have a drop gallery.

Perhaps there is a way around this? I am not sure, but I have tried to get around the problem and I am stumped, but I'm sure it shouldn't be getting stuck like it is.

I am guessing the problem lies with the focus shifting to the ribbons home button, but then focus is then going to the messagebox / balloon tip before it has finished popping up.
