    <![CDATA[<strong>Author:</strong> <a href="http://forum.codejock.com/member_profile.asp?PF=3003">mrmathis</a><br /><strong>Subject:</strong> 12899<br /><strong>Posted:</strong> 11 December 2008 at 3:05pm<br /><br />Is there a reason that the PDB files are not generated in the same folder and with the same naming scheme as the corresponding DLLs?&nbsp; Out of the box, for example, one DLL is<DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV><DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; ../../bin/vc90/ToolkitPro1201vc90.dll</DIV></DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>while the PDB is </DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; .\Release/vc90/ToolkitPro1201.pdb</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>Note the folders are different, and the DLL encodes the compiler version (eg vc90) into the filename while the PDB does not.&nbsp; This causes me some mild heartburn each time I roll out a new version of Codejock to my team, since it doesn't play well with some custom crashlog debugging tools we use, which assume that the files live together.&nbsp; I end up modifying the project files over &amp; over.</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV><DIV>--Mike</DIV><DIV>&nbsp;</DIV>]]>
