but I had other requirements and so I had to solve it in a different way. I really had to distinguish whether the user entered an "A" into the edit control or he/she selected the item "A" in the list of constraints as soon as I got the XTP_PGN_ITEMVALUE_CHANGED message...

Hi;
How can I distinguish between user changed the value by entering something into the edit control vs. user selected a constraint item - perhaps in XTP_PGN_ITEMVALUE_CHANGED.
Especially if SetAutoComplete(TRUE) is set!
