When loading image resources into Markup I can see that in method:
void CXTPMarkupImage::LoadImage(),
you use AfxGetInstanceHandle(), I believe that AfxGetResourceHandle() would be more correct.
 
E.g. I use localized DLLs changing the resource handle dynamically.
