This seems to be solved (I don't know what version...) I didn't get an error, when running your test project.

You could use also:

How quick do you think it will be before it’s fixed?

I really could do with a fix in the next 2-3 days errrrrrrrrrrr

I have paid for support, would placing a call into CJ speed things up?

They will fix this in next release but I don't know when CJ releases V12.0.2

Temporary fix:
 
I can store the button Item like this,
 
Dim riRecordItem As ReportRecordItem
Set riRecordItem = Button.Item
 
Before I do anything else.
 
Then use the  riRecordItem  when the Button object dies

You are right, it gives an error. I was testing this with V12.0 and it worked OK. So that's why I asked you what do I have to see.

What do you want me to see?
 
When I click the inplacebutton form2 will show and when form2 is closed there's a msgbox showing the caption of the column.
 
Another click the same as above, again and again...

Please see attached example.

 

On clicking on the button in the currency column.

The button object loses its reference, in the InplaceButtonDown event after the form is shown

 

This did not happen in ver 11.1.3

 

Any ideas that I can try to fix this?
