When the edit control does not have focus, the background is white; when it does have focus, the margins are white:<br><br><img src="uploads/20080721_170437_shot000272.png" height="35" width="144" border="0"><br><br>On XP and Windows 2000, it paints correctly, using the specified colors for fill and background.<br><br>I have attached the skin I'm using for testing; the problem does occur in SkinMDISample.
