Hi,
 
I totally agree. This is a "plug and pray" event
 
In the beginning I wanted to use it and got major errors (did I do something wrong???? I can't tell if I don't know how I have to deal with it) and if there's no documentation what to expect from the event, you are "afraid" of using it.

Is there any documentation for the Code to determine which notification was sent?
 
Public Event ControlNotify( _
   ByVal Control As CommandBarControl, _
   ByVal Code As Long, _
   ByVal NotifyData As Variant, _
   ByRef Handled As Variant _
)
 
with an edit control, I am seeing things like:
 
'Code 256 gotfocus
'Code 512 lostfocus
'Code 768 text change
 
And a combo control:
 
'Code 3 .setfocus to combo from code
'Code 7 getfocus with mouse and drop
 
The above are just first impressions, and may be wrong.
 
Any enumeration for the code values would be great
