I think it's too early to say. If the new UI framework will reside in a single DLL that can be shipped and run on XP & Vista too then others implementations are probably dead. But I suspect it's either Win7 only or Vista+Win7 only, so there is still a market for custom implementations. I also don't think that Office will drop it's own one. They are way too far into the Office 14 cycle to replace their Ribbon. Also look at the screenshot, the style is not yet finished, the gradient of the frame border doesn't match the Ribbon. |
