Virtual mode: Best way to insert a new record?

   Hi,
I'm using the report control in virtual mode for displaying and modifying process data (huge amount of small records).
At the moment I have troubles in inserting the record between two existing ones and repopulate the control without flickering and reposition failures. Current top row should stay current top row and the newly inserted record should be selected.
Any hints are welcome. Thanks in advance
