I've successfully recompiled with Orcas Jan CTP (not the virtual image, the installed version) the library in x86 MBCS, but some (small) cosmetic intervention is needed.
At least adding MSC_VER 1500, if you can do this in next release we avoid to manually patch includes.

P.S. project for version 8 can be opened without any problem...

This is probably off-topic, but what's new in Orcas in regards to C++ ? Couldn't really find much by searching...
