OK, I have implemented it now using OLE drag and drop. Not too difficult actually at all, altho codejock could replicate some of the tree control functionality such as ms-help://MS.VSCC.2003/MS.MSDNQTR.2003FEB.1033/vclib/html/_mfc_ctreectrl.3a3a.getdrophilightitem.htm - GetDropHilightItem and CreateDragImage and SelectDropTarget. Would be a good tutorial, how to do implement drag and drop, altho i used a bunch of wrapper classes that I had used before to make the job much easier.
