In it, I select multiple lines of text, then click above and outside the selection - Instead of just de-selecting the selected text and placing the cursor when the mouse click occurred, the syntax edit control de-selects the selected text, re-selects it, then de-selects again, and finally places the cursor when the mouse click occurred. This causes a flicker and a short delay before the cursor is placed and is annoying.

It's more noticeable when there are more lines of text as the flicker is slower in this case.

Any chance this can be fixed  ?

It's also much more noticeable when the the text is actual code (eg. .cpp). When it's just plain
text, it's not as noticeable.
