I have a VB6 app that uses the Calendar Control 11.2.2

I am using the custom tooltip approach where the control fires GetItemText and I then build my tooltip.

It seems that the timing of when GetItemText is called is not consistent.  I'd like the user to have to hover over an item for 300-500 ms before GetItemText is called.

However, in the monthly view, let's say I have 5 CalendarEvent objects in a particular day.  I hold the mouse over the last CalendarEvent of the day and soon enough GetItemText fires.  Then I move the mouse into an empty space - in the process passing over the other CalendarEvents of the day, once my mouse stops at this empty space, the control fires GetItemText for an CalendarEvent that was just above the previously focused CalendarEvent.

Is there a way to have finer control over when the GetItemText fires?
