I've been looking at several Codejock samples that feature embedded Caption bars and/or embedded Toolbars in a View-type class.  There seem to be several ways to implement this, but the newest sample, DockingContainers, uses several View-type classes.  But, these View-type classes don't inherit off of CView, but off of a class named CPaneView, which is apparently a roll-your-on CView-type class derived directly from CWnd.

My question:  is this Codejock's architectural recommendation, to do fancy Views this way?  Is there some good reason not to inherit off of CView?

Thanks,
