Hi,

I wasn't sure what this caused... But now I know it's ONLY the shadow of dropdown menu of Commandbars. Strange though, that this wasn't reported already. And as always I created a test for this

Just run test and click menu > click buttons of menu (each time clicked will delete button and will resize dropdown menu) > This works OK because ShowShadow = False

Now check ShowShadow > second menu item (including buttons) will be created > repeat previous > shadow doesn't clean up

Hi,

Nothing strange that nobody reported it before - you have CloseSubMenuOnClick control that delete self in Execute - don't think somebody has it in real application :)
Do you really have such task or just digging bugs ? :)

Hi Oleg,

In fact I have such option. I have an option to load several files at once and I want to display the loaded files names in menu (just like a windowslist) Contents of files will be loaded into ReportControl and user has an option to delete only those records in ReportControl which he/she selected in menu. I don't want to use CloseSubMenuOnClick because you have to click too much (is also part of popupmenu) that's why I noticed this problem.

If I look at your reply, you aren't going to solve this. But I don't care, I only wanted to share the info!!!
Do you really think I want to dig up bugs? Do you know how much time I spent on creating test for something like this?

But I have a few options myself for this:
  1. I won't use .ShowShadow
  2. Use LockRedraw = True  ....  code to delete button .... LockRedraw = False (This for PropertyGrid) and wndDockingPanes.RedrawPanes will do just fine.
btw If you don't want me to report these kind of bugs, just tell me... I will have more time for my own applications
