I like the capabililites of the Commandbar Control although the large size of it makes it not usable in my specific app. I have some comprehable tools that do more and are a third the size, plus they are visible in IDE and have a self contained imagelist. The only thing my other solutions lack are the Ribbon Bar and Tabbed Toolbar.

I personally can't see any reason for the large size and think it should be broken up into some smaller pieces. Over 2 MB's and alot of code to make it work...come on I know you can do better.

Hi,

Yes, in last version we include all bitmaps from Ribbon in ocx file (it is about 1.4 mb) guess we will break it for next release.

That's alot of overhead, especially for those that don't plan on using the ribbon bar. I won't use the control at all because of the size.

The compile Tabbed Toolbar sample takes up about 8 MB of memory and uses 237 GDI Objects and it doesn't even do anything but show off the tab style. It uses up pretty close to the same amount of resources as internet Explorer and Windows Explorer.

Seems to be a bug in the sample, too. Set the theme to Office 2003 then in advanced settings select these options...

xtpTabAppearanceVisio

xtpTabColorDefault

xtpTabLayoutAutoSize

Doing this shows only 1 Tab all others disappear.
