If all you want is a popup blocker, I use the Google toolbar for Internet Explorer. It's free and blocks 99% of popups.

There aer several FREE solutions out there. Pop-up blocking is
built in to Netscape 7.1 and Mozilla. You can also get spybot
search and destroy and Addware which will block pop-ups and search for
and remove spyware. And yes, as Boyd said, the Google toolbar is
another great option, plus it adds tabbed browsinf to Internet Explorer.
