    Posted: 17 July 2016 at 5:18am
Scenario:
- Windows 10 Build 10586 (v.1511)
- Codejock SuiteControls v.16.4.0 and 17.2.0
- Visual Basic 6.0 - SP6
- related to all (your) samples SkinFramework projects

I'm able to open a project and compile it.
But when try to run the project, SkinFramework freeze the IDE. Ouch

I.e.: SkinControls project freeze at this line (on :

SkinFramework.LoadSkin App.Path + "..\..\..\Styles\Office2007.cjstyles", ""

Please note that the compiled EXE works good.

Sampe SkinControls project in v.15.3 run good in IDE.

I don't use Win10 for the IDE so I can't test myself, but does it help if you exclude the following window classes before loading the skin?

        SkinFramework.RemoveWindowClass "ThunderForm"
        SkinFramework.RemoveWindowClass "ThunderRT6FormDC"

Product: Xtreme SuitePro (ActiveX) version 16.2.6
Platform: Windows XP - SP3

Language: Visual Basic 6.0 SP6

Well nobody is forcing you to do anything ;)

Just a debugging step to see if that fixes the problem or not.

As I wrote, simply open any SkinFramework sample included on SuiteControls 17.2 setup.

By now, I still use v.15.3.1

Isn't a solution. Ouch
But, however, it's a workaround...

But I don't like.
On Windows 10, without the Vista SP2 compatibily mode, the design is very very slow. Too slow.

Hello,

This is problem of compatibility VB6 and Windows 10 and not library codejock. I think we can't fix it.
Try to change compatibility mode Windows 7 or Windows 8 - application isn't hangs.
Also application isn't hangs if this mode off.

I think not, since the version 15.3.1 works perfectly also in Windows 10.
It means that this problem began with the 16.4.0 version just in library Codejock .

So I will continue to use the 15.3.1 version...

Hello,

I'm glad to inform you that the issue has been addressed and fixed. The fix will be available in the next beta or final release.

This problem is appears when you debug in IDE VB6 which has file compatibility mode is "Windows Vista SP2" and lower.

As hotfix you can add call ExcludeModule before LoadSkin
SkinFramework.ExcludeModule "AcLayers.dll"
SkinFramework.LoadSkin App.Path + "..\..\..\Styles\Office2007.cjstyles", ""
