My question is, can the day view of the calendar have the expand button as well as the week and month views.

We have a client who has so many events that span multi-day, that even in the day view of the calendar, there could be more than twenty or thirty events in the top portion of the day view. It seems that this top 'AllDay' portion of the window never grows larger than half of the height of the available space and after that it does not grow and remaining items are cut off. The problem is that there is no indication to the user that more events exist, and it seems to the user that we have deleted some of their events. If that little down arrow button could show here too, I could hopefully catch the onclick and implement a popup menu with the rest of the items listed, or something like that. The button doesn't show up in day view however, and I could not find out how to show it, or if it even can be made to show up in this view. Since I think the purpose of the button was to switch to day view, I can see why it may not have been meant to be shown here, but can it be enabled here? A scroll bar for the all day part would be another option, if that can be done.

Any ideas on how to get around this problem?

The previous suggestion for AllDay scroll bar, if implemented, could help in such cases:

We have the same issue, taken to even more extremes, as although most of the events we load up are at a certain instant, in a couple of modes we can have a hundred or more all day events on the same day due to monthly reporting requirements. We do actually see the little arrow, and I have hooked into the event (haven't checked if it fires off only in dayview, but that can be checked easily even if not), so I think we can try and create a fudge by copying all events to some additional form outside the calendar control, but it will be messy to do something like that.

As well as the suggested scrolling improvement mentioned above, I guess another option would be to allow the all day events to expand to unlimited size, after all day view is a fairly long scroll from top to bottom already, so adding a bit more length to that if it can then show everything seems like a workable solution.
