Hello all,

Customers with a current maintenance subscription can download the latest beta to 13.2.

http://beta.codejock.com/

Note that you will use your existing 13.1 password to install this beta.

Send and email to support@codejock.com if you are a current maintenance holder but the beta site shows you expired.

Thanks

What internet connection does your download servers have ? I get 20 KB/s download rate on my 32 MBit connection ...

Addition: I'm unable to download the beta ! When trying browser shows different download sizes each time which all lead
to invalid zip file. Don't know if too much users trying to download or if there is something wrong with the soures ???

Seems the new release covers bug fixes and only minor enhancements
No Windows 7 scenic ribbon, no charting and in my case lots of unsolved long term open requests...

I'm anxious for new features too (especially charting!), but what's wrong with an interim bugfix release?

It is a minor version update after all.

Great! Please let us test this release thoroughly!

(Please stop complaining about missing features etc. I'm sure there is a 14.0 coming soon. Instead, let us scrutinize this beta!)

Please have a look at issue #22782.
It shows a problem that's been bugging me since I started using docking panes... :(

No, this is no good. You have to make a second beta! Did you even add all ReportControl changes to this beta? Took me like five seconds to verify OLD selection bugs. I'm getting worried...

Ok, so I have to go through this again:
Click row 1, shift-click row 5, shift-click row 3. Row 1..5 are selected, with marker at line 3. Wrong, wrong, wrong! Expected: 1..3 selected.
Also missing (column-sizing would *really* benefit from this): http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=15075

If these items were not fixed, then please fix them. If you thought you fixed them, then I assume you have multiple branches with unmerged items.

Will download shortly and try this new build, however does it add Windows 7/Office 2010 style Documents Menu please? and is there a list of other changes so we can then all check those changes.
Thank you,

CXTTreeBase contains a bug (not a new one, I guess). XTP 13.2. Only tested under Windows XP SP3.

wndTree.EnableMultiSelect();

Now, ctrl-click on two items A and B to get a multi-selection. Then click on item A (ctrl up). TVN_SELCHANGED is fired, but when you enumerate the selected items, BOTH A and B are marked as selected.

Only A is painted as selected! Basically, the only problem is that during handling of TVN_SELCHANGED, the selection has not been reset!

Please fix this! There are few people who can tweak this selection-hack :(

Perhaps it's too much to ask for, but...

#include "SkinFramework\Styles\Office2007\Office2007.rc" <--- When will "White" and "Scenic" styles be available?

I'm using the SkinFramework to get Office-look in my entire application, but this is not possible for White/Scenic :(

Round 3:

Ctrl-click row 3
Ctrl-click row 10
Shift-click row 7

Expected selection 7-10.

Report selection: 3,7,10

Already explained somewhere - if you want proper selection - don't change direction as in your case

This is current version restriction.

If you like to improve it - please - we will appreciate your efforts.

Hi Znakeeye

Sounds good to me, as we currently done skin our applications, but do use Ribbons.  Any screenshots of what skinframework ribbon apps look like :)

I just uploaded the latest beta and it includes the first version of office 10 ribbon button.

To use set the style of the system button:

Set ControlFile = RibbonBar.AddSystemButton()
ControlFile.Style = xtpButtonCaption

With Quick Access toolbar, like this :

Note that there's no separator between app icon and quick access toolbar.
It's necessary to add one (like in office 10).

Hi Mark,

Selection is better ! No problem for me.
This has nothing to do with selection but in the second sample, did you try to activate the "Wysiwyg" mode (menu "Report Control" / "Wysiwyg print mode") and then call print preview ?

See this video :

That's the result :
  • The page number (top left) show "1/*" and after some zoom "1/1"
  • The print preview is not the same in whole page, zoom 100... the fields displayed are not the same...

Strange behaviour no ?

Hi, Lodep59 - it only means that ForcePaginationMode not used - continues priniting always show your #/*.
Another sample (like PaneView you already see) use this

GetReportCtrl().m_bForcePagination = TRUE;

and all pages calculated before printing

Please try again

I am not sure in your unrestricted last column case in print / printpreview - if column width > page width - what can we do???

But you can use new Column property - function: SetMaxWidth() and prevent such case

Later today we will start to test the beta with our applications, and will report any issues.  However first I have a few questions:

1. Do the samples show the new Office 2010/Windows 7 style Documents Menu button in use, and if not where can we get the MFC code to show us how to do this without documentation

2. What other new features/changes have made it into 13.2 (we mainly wanted the new documents button, however it would be great for us all to know what other features we can expect in this release)

Thank you,
Terry Mancey

Our server was down for maintenance off and on for a few hours today. Though I am not sure that was the problem if you were actually on the site.

Submit an issue to issuetrack and I can attach it.

A few questions/things with latest beta:

1. How do we set an image to show on the new Office 2010/Windows 7 style File menu instead of text please?
2. Please see below image (1.png) comparison between Paint (Windows 7) and Ribbon SDI new file menu (as the images in Windows 7 look slightly nicer as there is a pixel gap at top and no gap to left, while XTP has gap at left but no gap at top???, any chance this can be fixed please)
3. Windows 7 file menu is drawn slightly different than older documents menu see screenshot 2.png below (if you notice before windows pops up, and after
4. Is it possible to have the File menu for older themes such as Blue, Aqua etc. aswell or will it only support Scenic and White? Not a problem but just so we know

Thank you,
Terry Mancey

Other issues with Scenic ribbon:

1. Also notice the group text colour for Scenic ribbon on Windows 7 is slightly a nicer colour, can this please be fixed to match Windows 7
2. The window title is left aligned for the Scenic theme and not centred like other themes, I am sure the White theme is also left aligned, but I dont have Office 2010 installed right now

Thank you,

Another thing I've noticed (which is only cosmetic but would be great if could be fixed):

1. the new file menu (windows 7 style) button if you click it, then click anywhere for the file menu to lose focus there is a slight flicker of the light blue colour

Keep up great work

And one other thing is that on the new Scenic/White themes with the new file menu the application icon very top left of the title is not aligned left correctly like in Windows 7 etc. (see above posts for screenshost to see this)

Also, terry's image shows that the expand button is a bit too far from the quick-access toolbar compared to Win7.

You should use pnglib 1.2.40 instead of 1.2.37.

Please update before release!

I cant wait for release either but would prefer all these issues fixed first so that when we update our range of products to use the newer build we are happy our customers will not experience issues.

We have to decide what is a beta for... Once a version is Beta newer feature CANNOT be added or test is a never ending story... Only errors can be fixed.
And a release date MUST be given.

In last month we have seen problems still present and dozen of new feature that can be postoned to newer version.

For example a good news (for my needs) like
13.2 new feature - CXTPReportPaintManager

public

COLORREF m_clrAlternativeBackground; // Color for Alternative Row Background

BOOL m_bUseAlternativeBackground; // Flag to use for Alternative Row Background

Mark Doubson, Ph.D.
but why now ? at third beta ? still developing new features ? in a Beta3 ? so there is a Beta 4 ?

Why now - just because yesteday build was postponed till Monday because of new Office / Windows7 themes minor non-fixed defects which suppose to be fixed before release and my flag-related feature (with default flag value = FALSE) will not change anything in your app until you like to use new mode and set flag to TRUE

I finally got the 13.2 beta downloaded and installed, and wanted to test the resolution of the shell tree control problem that I posted in the forums recently (http://forum.codejock.com/forum_posts.asp?TID=15060).

Oddly enough, I can't even get the shell tree control to work at all now - it seems to hang on initialization.

...

UPDATE: Please disregard this problem report. It appears to be isolated to just one of our development machines, suggesting some sort of environmental issue. My apologies for any confusion.

Oh and please make the progress bars compatible with Windows 7's task bar with a flag.  As this would be a great option.

Today was the estimated day, which is great news if all visual appearances of Windows 7 style documents menu (file menu) are fixed as this is what we want for our next software update :)

Since we decided to add some of your last request, we will push back the release to next week.  Now we have to retest everything.

Hi

1. Window Title needs left aligning with a divider on Scenic
2. File menu is slightly different on Windows 7 Scenic

I can provide screenshots if you would like, and check into this in more detail.

We would have liked the file menu changed but I think CodeJock maybe thinking more like Office 2010, Windows 7 File Menu is nothing like Office 2010 and is very similar just cosmetically different.  I really do believe they should also add.

I can foresee that I will be very busy on Tuesday, including:
(1) destroying the existing XP system
(2) installing Windows 7
(3) installing CJ 13.2

But I will be happy because the whole system becomes NEW.

Windows 7 is a great OS, and definately worth upgrading.

I feel guilty I am selling my Signature Edition of Windows 7 Ultimate, but I already have a valid license so dont need it lol.  Else I would have kept that one also.

I believe I may have found a bug in 13.2 BETA.

If I use a docking pane context sticker style of "xtpPaneStickerStyleVisualStudio2010", the tab part of the sticker (that appears in the center of the sticker group) doesn't seem to work. In other words, when I drag a docking pane near another panel, I don't have the option of docking it as a tab.

The problem doesn't appear to occur with other styles such as "xtpPaneStickerStyleVisualStudio2005".
